Programme Details:
Programme Overview
The i4i Programme focuses on assisting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in advancing early-to-late stage medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, and patient-centered digital health technologies. The goal is to prepare these innovations for adoption within the NHS or social care systems.
A briefing event will be held on 11th February from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Registration is available for those interested in learning more.
Scope of the Programme
The i4i Connect stream is tailored for SMEs working on medical devices, in vitro diagnostics, and impactful digital health solutions intended for use in the NHS or social care. The funding is designed to help these companies progress to the next stage of development, making them eligible for additional funding opportunities, such as the i4i Product Development Award.
The programme is open to a wide range of research topics and is led by the applicants. Projects must have at least reached the experimental proof-of-concept or laboratory-validated stage, but innovations at any stage of the development pathway can be considered. The ultimate goal is to advance the technology to a point where it is ready for further investment or implementation.
Application Process
The i4i Connect funding process involves two stages:
Guidance documents are available to assist applicants in preparing their submissions for both stages.
Funding Details
The programme offers funding of up to £150,000 per project, with a duration of 6 to 12 months. The primary objective is to help SMEs reach a stage where they can secure additional funding or further de-risk their innovations to attract follow-on investment.
