Description
The competition aligns with theGovernment's Levelling Up White Paper and intends to support innovativeprojects led by businesses active in or planning to grow in the Coventry andWarwickshire-based immersive and creative industries cluster. Businesses mustselect the Round 1 Collaborative Research and Development (CR&D) strand fortheir proposal.

Funding requests for individual projectsmust range between £150,000 and £1 million.
Your Proposal
Eligible businesses must focus on immersiveand creative industries and demonstrate how their project will increaseinvestment into research and innovation, thereby contributing to economicgrowth in the cluster. Proposals should also indicate how they will enhanceequality, diversity, and inclusivity (EDI) within the cluster.
Portfolio Approach
A portfolio approach will be used tosupport various projects across different sectors, durations, and locations.Preference will be given to projects that are shorter in duration,significantly innovate in priority markets, are already based in the innovationcluster, and have activities outside the Greater South East.
Specific Themes
Projects can centre on a range oftechnologies such as digital media, mixed media, augmented reality, virtualreality, virtual production, game engines, 3D environments, simulations, datavisualisations, and gesture or facial recognition. Sectors may include, but arenot limited to, creative industries, video game development, healthcare,education, future mobility, manufacturing, retail, tourism, leisure, and sport.
Research Categories
Industrial research projects and experimentaldevelopment projects, as defined in the guidance on categories of research,will be funded.
Projects They Will Not Fund
Projects not aligned with the immersive andcreative industries cluster in Coventry and Warwickshire are ineligible, as arethose falling under the Cluster Management strand. Funding requests below£150,000 or above £1 million will not be considered.
They cannot fund projects that are dependent onexport performance or domestic input usage, such as conditional subsidies to abaker for exporting bread or using UK-produced flour.
