Innovate UK is investing up to £2million to enhance collaborations between UK and German organisations inemerging fields of technology. UK-registered businesses must collaborate withat least one German SME applying under the equivalent German ZIM programme. Theaim is to develop and deliver new innovations across a broad range of sectors.

Eligibility

The competition seeks projects that:

  • Enhance UK and German Collaborations: Focus on emerging fields of technology to develop new innovations across various sectors.
  • Emerging Technology Areas: Particularly encourage applications in:
       
    • Quantum
    •  
    • Artificial Intelligence (AI)
    •  
    • Semiconductor Applications
    •  
    • Engineering Biology
    •  
    • Future Telecommunications
    •  
    • Green Technologies, including hydrogen and battery technologies
  •  
  • Demonstrate Innovation: Projects must be game-changing or disruptive, leading to new products, processes, or services.
  • Economic Impact: Show potential for significant economic impact and return on investment within 2 to 3 years post-project completion.

 

How to Apply

Applications must be submitted through theInnovate UK Innovation Funding Service (IFS) portal by the deadline. Applicantsshould provide:

  • A detailed project plan outlining the innovation and its market potential.
  • Evidence of collaboration with a German SME, including how the partnership adds value.
  • Clear definitions of intellectual property (IP) usage and sharing between UK and German participants.
  • Financial plans and timelines demonstrating good value for money.

Note: Germanpartners must apply to AiF, acting as an agent for BMWK, under the equivalent German ZIM funding programme.
