This project aims to investigate how chemical signals produced by humans influences behaviour.

It will characterise the chemical signals causing happiness and fear, that drive behaviours such as approach and avoidance, respectively. These types of behaviour are fundamental to social interactions between individuals of the same species.

Once characterised, these chemicals will be artificially synthesised and will be used in an innovative computer-controlled odour delivery system where the effects on human subjects will be measured.
