Alex has 23 years’ experience in learningand development, working with some of the UKs largest household names, alongwith 100+ SME’s and Micro businesses. For the last 7 years he has sat on theboard of directors for a £100m turnover recruitment business, who specialise inmanufacturing, Supply Chain Logistics and Customer Service.
In 2009 he founded Qommunicate LTD, atraining and recruitment business, designed to support the long term unemployedin the most financially deprived regions in England. Utilising ESFA and ESFfunding, Qommunicate used innovative engagement and teaching techniques tosupport over 3000 long term unemployed adults into sustainable employment intheir first 5 years of trading. This success gave the business the ability totender for more than £12 million in government funding.
In 2016 Alex sold his business to a largerecruitment agency, and up until February 2024 has been a non-exec directorsupporting the strategy and vision in its continuous growth.
In his previous director role, he hascreated and led multiple complex projects focused on business improvement,organisational development, and personal/professional development.
Having previously worked as a recruitmentmanager for an organisation employing around over 2000 staff, setting up asuccessful training and recruitment business and sitting on the board of alarge recruitment company, Alex has vast and varied experience in talentmanagement with a keen focus on engagement, retention and motivation.
Alex has also supported multiple businesswith the implementation of impactful Apprenticeship programmes. He hasdelivered large scale Apprenticeship projects from level 2 – level 7 (degreelevel) including subjects such as BIT, PMO, Supply Chain Logistics, Customer Serviceand Leadership and Management. Within this role he has helped levy payers makethe most of their levy investment and supported non levy payers to bring infunding to support their own Apprenticeship programme.
Having been in a leadership role for 22years Alex has a detailed understanding of leadership in business and theimpact that robust leadership can have on retention, efficiency, employeeengagement and client engagement. Within this time, he has also coached,mentored and trained leaders from entry level up to a director level.
Whilst Alex has worked in L&D for mostof his career, he is not an academic. Although he understands the importance ofacademic qualifications his passion lies in representing and supporting thenone academically minded, to achieve success through techniques in motivation,goal setting and communication.
