Objective:
· Increase knowledge and efficiency in the design, construction, and operation of floating wind farms.
· Demonstrate cost-effective, sustainable technologies for floating wind turbines.
· Reinforce the European offshore wind turbine value chain.
Expected Outcomes:
· Improved constructability, reliability, and maintainability of floating wind systems.
· Reduction in the Levelised Cost of Energy (LCoE).
· Data collection for future optimisation of floating wind technologies.
Scope:
· Design and optimise full floating systems, addressing supply chain and space needs.
· Demonstrate innovative floating wind energy platforms (4 MW+ for horizontal, 2 MW+ for vertical axis) in real sea conditions.
· Develop pilot projects, addressing industrial design, manufacturing, circularity, scalability, and digital infrastructure.
Specific Conditions:
· Achieve Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7-8 by project end.
· Include a go/no-go decision point before deployment, with detailed engineering plans and permits.
· Share environmental monitoring data with relevant bodies.
· Allocate up to 2% of the budget to the BRIDGE initiative.
